New Mexico: geography

New Mexico is in the southwest of America. The state borders Colorado, Oklahoma, Mexico and Arizona. At some point in the northwest of the country, the state encounters Utah. It is the only state that has a four-country corner where the states of New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona meet. The area is traversed by the Rocky Mountains. The highest mountain is the Wheeler Peek with over 4,100 meters, the best known and most important river is the Rio Grande with its 3,034 kilometers. It is also part of the border with Mexico.

New Mexico: climate and weather

It is very hot in New Mexico between June and August. Temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius are normal. Then there is a lot of rain, but these evaporate so quickly that the rain can hardly penetrate the ground. Nevertheless, there is no high humidity here, which makes the climate pleasant. There are strong temperature differences between day and night. These can be more than 15 degrees Celsius.

The best time to travel is spring and autumn. Then the temperatures are a pleasant 20 and 30 degrees Celsius and there is not that much rainfall.
