According to Juliana Clara Távora, Onodera clinic nutritionist, in Belo Horizonte, Quinoa is a source of vitamin A, which is very important for the health of the eyes and participates in the defense of the organism. “She also has vitamin B9, important in lipid metabolism, in the formation and maturation of blood cells, and vitamin B complex, related to the proper functioning of the nervous system”, explains. Juliana still emphasizes that the cereal is a source of vitamin E (antioxidant-prevents damage to cells).

In addition to the vitamins, the nutritionist points out that the Quinoa is rich in minerals, such as iron (prevents anemia), magnesium (related to the anti-inflammatory process), potassium (important in the regulation of neuromuscular activity), calcium (important in bone health) and zinc (important for the immune system and healing). “Another interesting factor of the Quinoa is that it is also a great option for people celíacas, since it does not contain gluten”.

Jain also notes that, “by Rico nutrient supply, the cereal helps in faster recovery of malnourished children, besides being a variety for people who need a nutritional assistance, such as pregnant women,”says the nutritionist.
