Florida A&M University School of Law (FAMU Law) opened its doors in Orlando, Florida, in 2002 as the first public historically black college or university to open a law school in the United States since the Civil Rights Movement. It was founded with a mission to provide access to legal education for minority and historically underrepresented groups and to promote diversity within the legal profession.
