Florida International University College of Law (FIU Law) was founded in 2002 and became the first public law school in South Florida. Located in Miami, the college was established to provide a legal education to students from all walks of life, with an emphasis on individuals from diverse backgrounds. FIU Law’s mission is to prepare students for the practice of law by offering a rigorous curriculum and providing them with practical experience. In addition, the college seeks to foster a spirit of collegiality among its faculty and students, while promoting diversity within the legal profession.

Since its founding, FIU Law has achieved tremendous success in providing a quality legal education. The college opened with a small student body of just over 100 students and now boasts an enrollment of more than 1,100 individuals who hail from all over the world.
