How to Score Higher on the LSAT

Students searching for law school is required to take the Law School Admission Test, or LSAT. Most top-tier law schools require a score of 165 or more-scores ranging from 120 to 180-for approval. Only thorough preparation will help you to score high. Take steps to be as prepared as you can be, before you take the test.

1. Take a review course. These courses, some of which charge significant fees, can be ideal for students who lack the discipline to study on their own.

2. Buy the last published LSAT review books. ; These will include up-to-date practice tests. Each LSAT test is different, but the most important thing is to understand the measurements of the test, practice test-taking and familiarize yourself with time pressure. The point of practice is to reduce the time you need to complete the questions at the same time, achieve the highest possible score, you can. Each test takes about four hours.

3. Be serious about studying for the LSAT. Set aside at least an hour each day to study and take a practice test once a week. Do not sign up to take the test until you feel prepared. Most students start to prepare at least four to six weeks before the test date, according to the University of California-Berkeley Career Center.
