Rosa Khutor is amazing. This is exactly the case when advertising brochures and enthusiastic stories can and should be trusted. Official confirmation of this is the third World Ski Awards in a row in the nomination “Best Ski Resort in Russia”, received by the resort in November 2015. And this is considering that the first slopes of Rosa Khutor opened to winter sports fans only at the end of 2010. Check TOPSCHOOLSINTHEUSA to learn more about Russia.

For the Sochi Olympics, Rosa Khutor has created all conditions for the successful holding of a top-level sporting event and quality guest service. On the northern, northeastern and southern slopes of the Aibga Ridge, the Mountain Olympic Village, a freestyle center, a snowboard park and a ski center were built. The easiest way to get to Adler is by plane, and then by bus, the hotel’s proprietary shuttle, taxi or train to the resort itself. Sochi International Airport is only 45 km from the destination. The flight will take about 2.5 hours.

During daylight hours, bus number 135 departs every hour from the Stariy Aeroport stop to Krasnaya Polyana, the journey takes about an hour. You can also pre-book a seat on the Skybus bus, an adult ticket costs 350 RUB, but this carrier has two night flights. It is better to order a taxi in high season in advance, using trusted dispatch services, they will charge 1500-2000 RUB for the road to Rosa Khutor, private traders, especially at night or in the early morning, can request up to 3500 RUB. Although this rule does not work in the summer, in the low season you can negotiate for 1000 RUB. The prices on the page are for February 2021. Even easier for those who have a shuttle service to the hotel included in the package. Such lucky ones will be met at the airport by a comfortable minibus and delivered to the place of rest with a breeze. Do not forget to look around – the road to Krasnaya Polyana is considered one of the most picturesque in the Caucasus.

The slopes of Rosa Khutor are often described as difficult and suitable only for the most experienced winter sports enthusiasts. This is partly true – it was on the basis of the resort that all stages of the competitions of the Sochi-2014 Olympics and Paralympics in snowboarding, skiing and freestyle took place. Of the 37 tracks, 9 are black, their difficulty was confirmed by the Olympians themselves. However, there are also three green trails for beginners with a total length of under 6000 m. In total, Rosa Khutor has more than 35 trails of four difficulty levels, their total length exceeds 77 km, and the elevation difference reaches 1534 m.

The design of the Rosa Khutor ski slopes was developed by the world-famous architect and Olympic champion skier Bernard Roussy.

In case of a snowless winter, the tracks are equipped with artificial snow systems. The ski season in the resort lasts about 140 days a year. In addition, the green track “B 52” is equipped with lighting for evening skiing.
