The University of Miami School of Law was founded in 1926. It is the oldest law school in Florida and one of the oldest continually operating law schools in the United States. The school began with a two-year program, but it was quickly expanded to a three-year program in 1927. In 1928, the school moved to its current location on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. Throughout its history, the School of Law has had many notable alumni, including four Supreme Court justices and numerous federal judges. Over the years, it has also been accredited by both the American Bar Association and Council of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. In 1964, it became a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
