About Arizona
The fact that Arizona is only known for the Grand Canyon does not do this state justice. It is the 6th largest state in the United States and the 14th largest by population. As the 48th state of America, it was the last state of the Confederate States of America to join the United States. Arizona’s lifeblood is the Colorado River, which literally splits the Grand Canyon in two. Arizona is also home to the Navajo and Apache tribes, among others. About a quarter of Arizona is made up of reservations of a total of 27 recognized Native American tribes. In the year 1853, America bought much of southern Arizona from Mexico, making the cities of Tucson and Yuma American.
