About Iowa
Iowa. A peasant state at heart. From most pigs to America’s top corn producer, farming is all about agriculture. The mostly flat land makes Iowa suitable for agriculture, especially with the Mississippi River flowing in eastern Iowa. Everywhere in the state you will find the typical American red-colored farms with fields of corn to the horizon. The capital, Des Moines, is a cute town with 214,000 inhabitants. Especially the state capitol with its golden dome is, according to many Americans, more beautiful than the capitol in DC. As a former French colony, which you can still see in the flag, Iowa was the 29th state of America. In terms of nature, Iowa has no National Parks, but Backbone State Park is the oldest and most beautiful park in Iowa. Dunnings Spring Park has two beautiful waterfalls and an ice cave.
